A network of expertise – Groupe G²N

Notreau is part of Groupe G²N, a network of Quebec-based companies specializing in the environmental sciences and quality of the living environment.
In partnership with Géostar (environmental) and GMT Lab (geotechnical studies, materials testing laboratory, and quality control), we deliver an integrated, comprehensive vision of environmental quality — from soil to air, including water.

A committed and passionate team

Behind every analyzed sample is a team of technicians and microbiologists dedicated to a clear mission: protecting the safety, health, and well-being of Quebecers.
Our success is built on a people-centered, transparent approach, where service quality matters as much as the precision of our results.

Science at the service of your health

Because the quality of the water you drink and the air you breathe deserves the utmost attention, Notreau is committed to being your trusted partner for a healthier, safer, and more sustainable environment.

Groupe G²N, Géostar, Notreau, GMT Lab

1999
Founding
Géostar

Founded in 1999 by Mrs. Susie Léger, a geologist by training, Geostar inc. first set up its offices in the former chapel at 207 Principal Street in Brownsburg-Chatham. The team, then made up of three employees, specialized in drinking water potability analysis for the surrounding municipalities and for residents of the region. A few years later, the company expanded its offering by adding soil testing services for septic installations for individual homeowners.

2006
Growth
Laboratoire Notreau

In 2006, Mrs. Léger, her son Ian Ménard and their associate Mrs. Guylaine Tardif founded Laboratoire Notreau, marking the opening of the air quality analysis department at 216 Principal Street in Brownsburg-Chatham.

2023
Expansion
GMT Lab

In 2023, Mrs. Léger also created GMT Lab, an independent laboratory specialized in materials testing, moving to 224 Principal Street in Brownsburg-Chatham. That same year, she retired and handed over the presidency of her companies to her son, Ian Ménard.

2025
Unification
Groupe G²N

The year 2025 marks a major turning point: four new partners join the various entities, giving rise to Groupe G²N.

Today, Groupe G²N is a Quebec-wide reference for water, air and soil analysis. Bringing together Laboratoire Notreau, Géostar and GMT Lab under one banner, the Group forms an integrated network of experts offering a comprehensive environmental approach focused on sustainability, compliance and the quality of service provided to its clients.
